Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Naveen Nandanan attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate education where he received a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2009. After college, he worked for 2 years as a therapeutic counselor for abused children in Richmond, Virginia and then worked as a cancer research fellow at the Narrows Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Virginia, where he was heavily involved with medical education.
He went on to complete his Urologic Surgery residency at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. During his residency training, Dr. Nandanan was involved with basic science and clinical research while staying active in resident education. He was also active on the national scene, previously serving as the Mid-Atlantic Section Representative on the National Residents and Fellows Committee of the American Urological Association. After graduation from residency, Dr. Nandanan obtained further training in Urologic Oncology and Advanced Robotic Surgery at the City of Hope National Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Nandanan now lives in Fredericksburg, VA and enjoy life with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, cooking, hiking and spending time with his family.
